McGombs (Labour, Lyttelton) , which like its predeeessor, aims at the reinstatement qf the principle of compulsory arbitrqtion... After a discussion of well-worn arguments, marked occasionally .by acrimony, the second reading was defeated by 41 votes to 24 votes. Messrs. A. M. Samuel (Government, Thames) , E. T. Tirikatene.-(Ra-tana, Southern Maori),, and H. M. Rushworth (Independent, Bay of Islands, voted with Labour. - -
