The Govftrnment meteorolofdst issued the following weather report and foreoast last nifht: — General situation: - Since Wednesday night a new anti-cyclone has developed with its centre over the Northern Tasman Sea and northern New Zeaiand; another rather i'ntense wes- i terly depression is now crossing southeastern Australia. Foreoast: Winds moderate wester- j jj iies, veering to north-westerly again, Ishortly. Weather: Fair to fine generally, but some isolated showers in western districts where later conditions are likely to become u'nsettled again; cool to-nTght, but temperatures becoming warrn again to-morrow. Following are the barometer, maximum and minimum thermometer, sun9 shine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Sta> tion by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 30,101 ins. Thermometer (max.) 63.1deg. Thermometer (min.) 46.8deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 33.7deg. Rainfall Nil Bright Sunshine 3.4hrs. I
