HEAVY YARDINGS WITH VALUES MAINTAINED AT FRANKTON FAT LAMB PRICES LOWER

Hamilton, Tuesday. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report. — Frankton sale to-day we had an exceptionally heavy yarding of fat sheep comprising mostly ewes and fat lambs, for which' competition was slightly easier. The usual yarding of wethers maintained last week's quotations while a yarding of good quality hoggets sold on a par with last week's rates. The excessive number of fat lambs made quotations lower than last week. Cattle: An extra heavy yarding of all classes of fat and store cattle," ox b'eef being penned in usual numbers, the market again showing an easing tendency. Cow and heifer beef were also yarded in heavy numbers. The market was erratic and prices eased on late quotations. Store cattle re1 mained unchanged. Pigs: An extra h'eavy yarding of both fat and store pigs again came forward, all pigs selling at slightly easier than previous quotations. We quote: Fat shorn 2-tooth ewes 10/2 to 10/11, maiden ewes 8/8 to 8/9, heavy fat ewes 7/- to 7/6, lighter 5/6 to 6/3, heavy fat wethers 13/- to 13/6, medium 11/- to 12/3, medium 11/- to 12/3, heavy fat hoggets 11/6 to 12/3, lighter 9/6 to 10/7, heavy fat lambs 11/3 to 12/-, lighter 8/- to 10/3, heavy fat steers £6 3/to £6 10/-, medium £5 2/6 to £5 12/-, light £4 4/- to £4 12/-, h'eavy fat cows £3 15/- to £4 15/-, medium £3 3/- to £4 11/-, forward conditioned 30/- to 35/-, stores £1 to 26/-, boners 8/- to 16/-, yearling Jersey heifers £3 5/- to £3 15/-, smaller Jersey heifers £2 8/to £2 15/-, Jersey cross heifers 35/to £2 5/-, bulls £2 5/- to £5, heavy baconers 39/- to £2 2/-, medium 34/to 38/-, heavy porkers 28/- to 32/-, medium 25/- to 27/-, light £1 to 24/-, stores 16/- to 19/6, slips 11/- to 15/-, weaners 8/- to 10/-.
