ENERGETIC MAYORESS.
VISITING SCHOOLCHILDREN
Mrs. Leonard Newsome, the Mayoress of Blackpool, Ehglahd, is doing a fine piece of work during her- first year of office. She has made up her mind to visit lOj'OOO children in all the elementary schools in Blackpool. She goes to each classroom and speaks to each giil and boy individually (writes a correspondent). When Mrs. Newsome visited the Thames Road Senior School, where her sister is a teacher, she was^ given a great reception. A party tea had been prepared for her, with' cakes and trifles made b.y the giils themselves. Before hermarriage the- Mayoress was a teacher at a Blackpool school.
