RAILWAY OFFICERS HONOUR MEMORY OF LATE MR. ROUSSELL

Auckland, Wednesday. Tributes to the memory of the late Mr. P. G. Roussell, General Manager of Railways, who died suddenly in Auckland on Tuesday, were paid at the Auckland station this afternoon prior to the despatch of the funeral casket for Wellington. A special van was attached to the Main Trunk Express. In this the casket was placed. Before the train drew up on the departure platform, Mrs. Roussell, accompanied' by members of the family and friends, arrived at the station hy car and w-ere met hy representative railway olficers, who expressed condolenees on behalf of their staffs. Members of the station staff, carrying -wreaths, filed on the platform and passed into tlie van carrying the casket, and dep'osited the wreaths as they went. Ml-s. Roussell ahd family travelled to Wellington on the train, which left the station in impressive silence. In the meantime the flag at the station flew at half-mast, As the train passed down the line wreaths were deposited by staffs at the stations.
