WORK TO PROCEED

("Post" Special Commissioner) .

galatea and ngakuru

Wellington, Wednesday. It is authoritatively lear.nt that the Government has no intention of altering its policy in regard to the d'evelopment of the Galatea and Ngakuru blocks as a result of the National Expenditure Commission's report. The Comm'ission cast doubts on the value of the development work on these estates, but apparently the Minister of Lands (Hon. E. A. Ransom), and his expert officers think differently. Residents of the Rotorua district may rest assured that the work will be pushed ahead as far as the funds allow.
