HIGH SCHOOL

MONTHLY MEETING OF BOARD HELD LAST EYENING The monthly meeting of the Rotorua High School Board was held last evening the following being present, Mr. R. B. Nesbitt (chairman), Archdeacon Chatterton, Mrs. I. M. Davidson, Messrs H. M. Martin, H. A. Goudie, H. Tai Mitchell and Dr. H. Bertram. On the reeommendation of the headmaster, Mr. W. G. Harwood, it was decided to pufchase a new hand mower and large roller for the use of the groundsman. The purehase of a blacksmith's drill, vice and forge at a cost of £7 10s for use in the Agriculture course was also agreed to. • Appreciation was expressed at th'e action of Mrs. F. H. Spencer in donating to the school a selection of pressed New Zealand ferns for mounting purposes. It was decided that at the expiry of the board's leases on July 31, 1933, the board authorise the issue of new leases to the lessees. The results of the Auckland University College annual terms examinations credit the school with the following successes: J. S. Alexander, passed in Latin, English' and Constitutional History. C. W. Randerson, passed in Latin, English. R. J. Devin, passed in pure Mathematics.
