THE WEATHER
The Gowrnment meteorolopist issued the following weather report and forecast last niffht: — Ge'nera! situation: Ah anti-cyclone • covers New Zealand; a fairly depression is advancing across the southern Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds south -westerly at first, north of New Plymouth and Napier, elsewhere variable but northerlies prevailing and becoming strong in and south of Cook- Strait. Weather: Fair to ffne at first, becoming warm. Unsettled conditions with rain developing in distrifcts with a westerly aspect and over 'the far south. I ' Following are Ihe barometer, maximum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at "the "Governmerit Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended "at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 30.019ins. Thermometer (max.) 62.7deg. Thermometer- (min.) 41.7deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 31.6deg. Rainfall ..... .... Nil Bright Sunshine .... 11.2hrs.
