STOCK MARKETS
CAMBRIDGE HORSE SALfc Hamilton, Saturday.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, Hamilton, report that at their special Cambridge horse sale held on Friday, just under 150 horses were submittecl to a fairly large attendahce of buyers. The number was made up of approximately 25 unbroken, 25 hacks and 100 draughts. The quality of the draughts generally seemed inferior to what were offered at our recent Ohaupo sale, although a few good horses were scattered throughout the sale. The special entry ex Gisborne sold well considering the quality, while we consider prices for all others very satisfactory. The unbroken being of only inferior types, did not meet with the anticipated demand, although practically the lot found buyers. Hacks sold under the usual demand. The reservations throughout the sale were very few, most of those held back being booked up later. Best types of draught horses made from £24 to £40; medium farm horses £16 to £23; useful sorts, £9 to £13; aged sorts up to £8; medium unbroken, £6 to £9; others up to £5; best hacks, £6 to £8 10s; others, £4 to £5 10s.
