The GoVflrnment meteoroloflist issued the following weather report and forecast last niffht: — Generai situation: The antl-cy-clone mentioned yesterday increased somewhat in intensity and is approaching the northern extremity of New Zealand; a deep depression is moving on to eastern Australia. Forecast: Winds south-westerly at first north of Otago, northerlies southward and northerlies extending gradualiy over the Domi'nion and becoming strong. Weather: Mainly fair to fine and • yvarmer, but upsettled conditions and rain deveioping later in the fart south and extending norfhward over districts with a westeriy aspect. Foilowing are the barometer, maximum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall, readings recorded at the Government Observation Sta* tion by the Rotorua Tourist Department- for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday.
