A HOMILY
("Post" Special Commissioner)
MR. A. MadNTOSH AND THE OPPORTUNITIES OF TO-DAY
Wellington, Friday: Referenee to the addendum attached to the National Expenditure Commission's report by Mr. A. Maclntosh, a member of the commission, was made hy Mr. W. A. Bodkin (Govt., Central Otago). "I do not question his right to address a homily to the people of New Zealand," said Mr. Bodkin, "I do not know him and it may be that he has given years of disinterested service to the Dominion. It is fitting that elderly men who have been favoured by fortune, should at all times address words of hope and encouragement to our New Zealand youth, and it is a tragedy that the country which offered such opportunities to Mr. Maclntosh to thrive and prosper, offers so little to the boys and girls of to-day."
