THE WEATHER
The Gowrnment meteorolopist issued the following weather r.eport and forecast last niffht: — General situation: A moderate Westerly depression is advancing across the Tasman Sea and is being foilowed by a fairly intense anti-cy-clone, which was centred this morning near Adelaide. Forecast: Winds moderate to strong northerlies to north-westerlies, but a Change to south-westerly setting in shortly i'n southern districts; after about 24 hours a southerly change is likely to extend to the north of New Zealand. Weather: Unsettled in districts with a westerly aspect with some rain; temperatures mild at first, but becoming cooler in the week-end. Following are the barometer, tnaxirnum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Sta« tion by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 29.832ins. Thermometer (max.) 68.2deg. Thermometer (min.) 43.5deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 35.7deg. Rainfall .... .... Nil Bright Sunshine 11.1hrs.
