CROWD ATTACKS AND BATTERS POLICEMEN
— By Telegraph — Copyrlght).
Rec. Oct. 25, 7.45 p.m. 'Sydney, Oct. 25. While unemployed were congregating outside the Glebe Town Hall for a meeting of protest against the dole questionaire form, three members of the police force were viciously attacked by the crowd of 300, trampled upon and kicked. Two sergeants were so injured they had to receive hospital treatment. The third, a constable, was badly mauled, but got on his feet and drew his revolver, quietening the attackers who withdrew. When p>olice reinforcements arrived, the crowd dispersed rapidly. Remarks seem to indicate that the disturbance was planned. New arrivals were questioned as to whether there were simultaneous attacks reported about the city.
