MAJESTIC
TO-NIGHT. Who does not remember "Splinters," the joyous roistering comedy of the brighter minutes that comprised a soldier's life during the last "Great Struggle"? It was undoubtedly one of the biggest successes of any of the early talkies and so- popular was it that public demand has encouraged the British Dominions people to make a sequel. This is "Splinters in the Navy," and indeed, it eclipses its predecessor even if only from the point of view of improved technique. All the original "Splinters" are included in this film, and Sydney Howard, who, it will be remembered, first rose to fame through his interpretation of the "frozen-faced" soldier, heads the cast, this time as Joe Crabbs A.B. Such other favourites as Lew Lake, Hal Jones and Reg Stone are all prominent in rqles,. not forgetting the world-famed "beauty ballet," who have returned with a -new pot pourri of songs and dance numbers. "Splinters in the Navy," opens at the Majestic Theatre to-night, with a full and attractiv© supporting pro— gramme.
