' ENJOYABLE FUNCTION BIG CROWD SPENDS BRIGHT EYENING AT MAJESTIC ATTRACTIVE DECORATlONS ' Despite the adverse weather conditions, there was a large and enthusiastic attendance at the Rotorua Miniature Rifle Club's ball held at the Majestic Ballroom last Wednesday evening. No stone had been left unturned to ensure a successful evening, and the decorations were a most artistic creation on the part of the committee in charge. A novelty entrance consisting of a large bulls-eye, was only a pre- ■ liminary to the colourful display of ■ red white and blue streamers, fairy ; lights, ferns and graeeful bunches of . clematis that met the eye in the ballJ room itself. The supper-room decorations were carried out in the same colours and the red anemones and subdued candle1 light spread a warm colour over what !was unaoubtedly an extremely wellspread board. The catering, which' was ; carried out by Mr. F. Oldham and i staff, was exeellent from every point | of view. During the evening, the presentation of trophies won during the season, was carried out uy his Worship the Mayor, Mr. T. Jackson, while a special presentation was made to Miss R. Owens and Miss Yuille two indefagitable . lady workers of the club. Mr. | Jackson in making the presentations referred to • the untiring energy and enthusiasm of both ladies in promoting the social side of the club's activities. The two successful' couples in the monte carlos were Mr. Dabb and partner and Miss Parata and Mr. Fairley. Among the ladies present were: — Mrs. C. A. Bates, who wore black satin; Mrs. H. E.
