CHURCH WECOME
HIKERS INVITED TO ATTEND SERVICES DURING TRIP The Council of the Church of England Men's Society has issued usef ul : information for its branches concerning the methods by which hikers can reeeive welcome in their Sunday excursions. Branches are reminded that hikers should be weleomed to the services, and that the C.E.M.S. members niight act as guides to the church itself or placeS of interest in the neighbourhood. Two Northern dioceses in England — Ripon and Bradford — have prepared a list of churches where hikers are weleomed to the services aiid the Bishops of Ripon and Bradford'
have attached a message, m which they state: ' "In any of these churches you can find quiet to sit for a few minutes and think of God, your Father, and then to kneel and pray to Him. Make ' this a bit of each Sunday's programme and it will bring a new meanitig and heauty into the day."
