The Government meteorolojlist issued the following weather report and forecast last nisrht: — General situation: The cyclone is now passing off New Zealand, but a secondary westerly depression is developing in the south-western Tasman Sa. Forecast: Winds moderate to strong 'northerly to westerly at first over the North Island, but southerly over the South Island and becoming general during to-night; later winds again becoming more westerly. Weather; Changeable with showers at times in most distrjcts, improving temporarily to-morrow; temperatures cool.
