The Government m^teorolonist issued the followirig weather report and forecast last niffht:— General situation: A slight anticyclone covers New Zealand, while a moderate cyclonic depression is located off the New South Wales coast. Forecast: Winds, light to moderate a'nd variable, southerlies prevailing at first, but backing gradually to north-westerly and northerly.

Followlng are the barometer, maximum and mirtimurii thermomfiter, sunshine, and rainfall readings re'corded at the Government ObServatiori Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 29.967ins. Thermometer (max.) 60.2deg. Thermometer (min.) .... .... .... 40.2deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 27.9deg. Rainfall Nil Bright Sunshine 8.9hrs.
