THE WEATHER
The Government meteorolopist issued the following weather report and forecast last nifht: — Ge'neral situation: The last of the recent series of . depressions is crossing New Zealand to-day and a moderate anti-cyclone has reached southeastern Australia. Forecast: Winds. Moderate to strong northerlies at first, but achangp to south easterlies advancing from Ihe south during the night. Weather: Generally dull a'nd unsettled, with almost general rajn probable with very heavy falls in distrits with a westerly aspect, and lighter and more scattered in the eastern districts. Temperatures becoming cooler. I "~^Following are the barometer, maximum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.Z0 a.m. yesterday. Barometer .... 20.808ins. Thermometer (max.) 62.7deg. Thermometer (min.) 54.2deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 50.0deg. Rainfall .... 0.32ins. Bright Sunshine 1.1hrs.
