EDUCATION REPORT
Wellington, Friday. A reduction in expenditure totalling £736,291 during 1931-32, as compared with 1930-31 is shown in the annual report of the Minister of Education, the Hon. R. Masters, presented to Parliament to-day. The principal reductions were in teachers> salaries, £279,685; subsidies to schools and university colleges, £37,636; building and maintenaYice, £48,515; grants to teachers' superannuation fund, £100,000; new buildings, additions, etc., £183,953.
