THE WEATHER
The Government meteorolopist issued the following weather report and forecast last nijht:— • ' General Situation: The barometer is still fairly high over the greater part of New Zealand. A low pressure wave is approaching the south and an intense low pressure area is over Tasmania. Forecast: Winds northerly to westerly, moderate to strong. The weather will be fair to cloudy in eastern districts but changeable with scattered rain1 ih districts with a westerly aspect. Mild temperatures. Following are the barometer, maximum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department for the 24 hours ended .at 3.30 J a.m. yesterday. Barometer 30.388ir.s, Thermometer (max.) 61.0deg. Thermometer (mj'n.) .... \ 53.0deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 47.7deg. Rainfall Ni| Bright Sunshine 1.8hrs. i
