Rec. Oct. 3, 8.30 p.m. Sydney, Oct. 3. Beautiful spring weather favoured the Trades Hall annual eight hour day procession to-day. Seventy-four unions participated, earrying as many banners. The tahleaux were chiefly of a political nature. Mr. J. T. Lang was lionised and the present Premier, Mr. B. S. Stevens, was caricatured in many ways, mostly with a halo above his head. The gathering was carried out in connection with the Labour festival. Whangarei, Monday. While- pillion-riding in the Rawene district last evening, Richard Arthur Potter (18), son of Mr. A. A, Potter, of Kohukohu, was lcilled, as a result of his motor-cycle colliding with a van.
