SCHOOL SECTIONS
(To the Editor). Sir, — At a meeting of householders in connection with the erection of a school, held at Ngakuru last Friday, the Education Department advisory inspector, when told there were a number of sections in a certain locality, asked if they were Government owned or privately. This appeared to me a most peculiar question, and I fail to understand what difference it makes in eaucational matters who owns the land. Are not children on privately owned land entitled to the same consideration in school facilities as those on Government land? I have noticed a lot of this sort of thing with our Government (or lack of it), and Government Departments to-day, and wonder how long the taxpayers are going to stand for it. We certainly seem to be a longsuffering, tolerant crowd. — I am, etc. GEO. GUNSON. Ngakuru, Sept. 29.
