CHILDREN'S PLAYING AREA

A meeting of representatives from the Whakatane Borough Council, Harbour Board and Winter Show Committee met to considcr the suggestion from the borough council to erect a children's playing area adjacent to the township, Mr. Sumner occupied the chair. Vax*ious sites wex*e considered, a majority of those present favouxing an area opposite the Comxxxercial Hotel and close to the Winter Show building. Howevex', no finality was reached and the matter will come up later for further consideration after consultation with present hoklers of Harbour Board leases on the area in question.
