PANIC STRICKEN PEOPLE

Rec. Sept. 29, 5.0 p.m. Athens, Sept. 28. The occupants of twentythree villages which were destroyed by the earthquafee are wandering over fche couiitry-side in panic, praying for deliverance from the terror. It is reported that 200 Asia Minor refugee families were exterminated on the Island of Amogiani. A strange light to seaward heralded a destructive tidal wave. It is believed' that the famous monastery on Monnt Athos is badly dimaged. Many miners were buried in the galleries at Cassandra and Strathonikon.
