Foreoast: Winds between southerly and easterly, fresh in places, but mainly light to moderate. Weather; Further scattered rain in eastern districts and the far north, trut nibre especially between Cook Strait and th East Cape, improving gradually; elsewhere fair to fine; temperatureq cooi to moderate. * Following are the barometer, maximum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readlngs tecorded at the Government Observation Sta* . tion by the Rotorua Todrist Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday.
