ROTORUA DEFEATS OPOTIKI BY NINE POINT MARGIN The return game between Rotorua and Opotiki basketball representative teams was played yesterday, Rotorua taking the honours, 14 — 5. Both teams played well, particularly the centre thirds, while the passing on the whole, was quick and accurate. The forwards of both teams, however, displayed over-eagerness in the first half, and consequently a number of goals were lost. In the second half, Rotorua grad- • ually drew ahead. Their forwards were shooting better and took every - opportunity to increase their seore, although they had to fight hard to make any headway against their opponents' strong defence. The final score was Rotorua 14, Opotiki 5. The fact that some of the Opotiki team arrived in Rotorua only ten minutes before the match undoubtedly had some effect on the players, the long tiring journey taking toll of their energy.
