In a chailenge match for the Ingiam Cup/ Kahukura (the holders) maintained their unbeaten record for this season by defeating the Patetere Cluh (Matamata), hy eleven points to three. Backed by a strong breeze, the winners rattled on eight points in the first half but in the second the visitors combined better, making the game very even, each side j scoring a try apiece. j Mr. E. R. Riggs had control of the I game. Oucside Centres j In a chailenge game for the Ranfurly Shield, Canterbury defeated Waikato, 17 — 6. In a representative match, Wellington beat Hawke's Bay 16 — 11. Auckland senior grade results were: — University 3, beat Ponsonby 0. Training College 8, beat Marist 6. Grammar 14, beat Grafton 3. Otahuhu 10, beat College Rifles, 6.
