CARNIVAL

SUPERB CAST IN GREAT BRITISH TRIUMPH. ' WELL-KNOWN ACTOR. A rare film of beauty, movement, music and power is a description that fiXs the new British Dominions picture "Carnival," which opens on Saturday at the Majestic Theatre. Most of the srperbly lavish scenes afe set to music — -music that is not deliberate but a sublle accompanimcnt to the rapid aetion of the production. The aeting is superb; Matheson Lang, Dorothy Bouchier and Joseph Schildkraut all g've of their best. Lang needs no eulogy; his powerful acting is too well known to the- world, even though" most of his performances have been confined to the English stage. Neither does Joseph Sehildkraut, whose romantic lover roles have endeared him to many feminine hearts, but Miss Dorothy Bouchier merits special mention. She looks amazingly lovely in "Carnival," and her acting, poise and general appearance are excellent. Dorothy used to be £Chili," but jthe change has given us a more heautiful, glamorous and "warmer" actress tliat is destined to hit the high spots in film production. The teehnique of "Carnival" leaves ahsolutely nothing to be desired, and although music plays a great part in the action of the picture, it has been most skilfully interwoven into the action. The pleasing result is a tremendously powerful drama with life in rhythm.
