Dargaville, Friday. Shortly before midnight, a two- : torey dwelling on the outskirts of Ihe town, owned by Mr. E. W. Toogood, was discovered on fire. The brivade answered the call promptly, but owing to the distance from the fire station, two miles, the house was ablaze before the brigade's arrival and nothing could be done to save it. With its valuable contents the house was totally destroyed.
