SNOWDEN RESIGNS mr. MacDONALD COMPELLED TO CONSIDER RESHUFFLE OF MINISTRY RETAINING NATIONAL IDEAL

Rec. Sept. 23, 7.0 p.m. London, Sept. 23. The Daily I-Ierald says that Viscount Snowden has decided to resign from Cabinet. This has foreed the hand of Sir II. Samuels' colleagues against their general example, and led to a decision to follow Viscount Snowden's example. The resignations will be sent to His Majesty after the Cabinet meeting noxt week. Mr. Itamsay MacDonald used all his influence to persuade the Samuelitos, but he found Viscount Snowden deterrnined so he accepted the decision. Mr. MacDonald is already consid-r-ring a reshulfle of the Ministry, and will. use his utmost endeavours to fill the vacancies from the Liberals or National Labour in order to retain the national character of the Governinent. Lord Ilailsham on his arrival from Canada, said it would be regrettable 12 the Liberals resigned wh.il e there was still so mu.ch valuable work for the National Government to do.
