MAJESTIC TO-NIGHT
DOUBLE FEATURE PROGRAMME Comedy and romance, cleverly mixed togther, are the principal ingredi■snts of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's "The Great Lover," which' opens at the Majestic Theatre to-night. "The Great Lover" offers Adolphe Menjou, the suave, in the title role which Leo Ditrichstein made so famous on the stage. Menjou provides the romance, with his sparkling and frequently torrid love affairs with six beautiful girls; while Ernest Torrence, Cliff Edwards and Rosco Ates carry the main comedy burden. Torrence is Menjou's valet, Edwards a grand opera press agent, and Ates a stuttering reporter. Other players of prominence are Irene Dunne, of "Cimarron," as an aspirant for grand opera honours, who nearly burns her moral fingers in her ambition; Neil Hamilton as the young lover; Hala Hamilton and Baclanova. The second feature is "This Reckless Age," a story of parental sacrifice and of selfish children, who, with their youthful associates, reipresent this restless, unconventional age of young people. Their extravagant and wild lil'e in contrast to their parents' ideas, furnish many dramatic situations that are tense and heart-grip-P'ing but frequently interspersed with pungent humour and hearty laughter. The cast is headed by Charles Rogers, Peggy Sannon, Frances Dee and Charles Ruggles. •
