SUCCESSFUL EVENING The Opotiki A. and P. Association held a very enjoyable evening of dancing and cards in the Lyric Hall on Wednesday. The success of the function was due to the untiring wox'k of the committee in charge. Mr. W. Reece caxu-ied out the duties of M.C. A number of excellent concert itenxs were given during the evening. The progx'amme was as follows: — Song, Mr. C. Wolfenden, "Somewhere a Voice is Calling," with "Boys of the Old Brigade" as an encore; song Mr. V. Elliott, "The Little Sands of Dxxna" with encore; song, Miss B. Kelly, "Land of Hope and Glory," with encore "Until"; Mr. V. Elliott (by request), "Pale Moon," with an Italian song as encox-e; Mr. G. Lysaght, ventriloquist. After supper Mr. C. Black thanked the supporters of the dance and all who had helped to make it successful. Ho apologised for the absenee of Misses Reid, Shaw and Mrs. Fox, who were loyal wox'kers at the annual A. and P. Show, oxxe of Opotiki's most inxpox'tant functions.
