WELL-KNOWN RACE CLUB SECRETARY IN COURT

Auckland, Thursday. Arrested in the city this afternoon, Frederick Deuchar McYay, until recently secretary of the Takapuna Jockey Club,. appeared in the Police Court, before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., on two charges of theft. He was charged with stealing from the club £204 5/10 between July 1, 1931 and June 23, 1932, and also with stealing £9 on June 1, 1932. On the application of DeteetiveSergeant McHugh, accused was remanded until Monday. Counsel for accused said he did not intend to ask for bail. On Monday accused would plead guilty to all charges, and would facilitate the case.
