-By Telegraph — Copjrlghtx.

Wellington, Thursday. With traditional poxnp and circumstance, the second session of the twenty-fourth New Zealatnd P'arliament was opened to-day, and after the ceremonial proeeedings, there were brief sittings of both Houses. As usual, Ministers were bombarded with questions covering a wide range of tonies but nothing of significance was divulged in the replies. The principal feature of today's sittings was notice of a noconfidence amendxnent to the Ad-dress-in-Reply from the Opposition benches, hut it is likely that some days will lelapse before the division takes place. The new member for the Southern Maori, Mr. E. T. Tirikatene was present, but was not sworn in. It is stated he will co-operate with the Labour Party during the coming session.
