THEN TRY THESE. Melt £ of a pound of grated cheese in the top of a double boiler. Add 1 tablespoonful of butter, I of a teaspoonful of salt, and 1-8 of a teaspoonful of cayenne pepper. Gradually add § of a cupful of milk. On removal from the fire add mustard to suit the taste. Serve at once on hot toast or water biscuits. Cook chopped cabbage until tender, salt, drain, add a tablespoonful or two of butter and place in a buttered baking dish, sprinkling grated cheese over each layer and on the top1. Brown lightly in a fairly hot oven.
