GIRLS' CLUB CONCERT
ENTERTAINMENT AT MAJESTIC. Last Friday the members of the St. Luke's Girls ' Club produced a most entertaining concert programme in the Majestic Theatre. The theatre was comfortably filled, but nevertheless it was rather disappointing that the girls were not rewarded for their worthy efforts with a packed house. The programme was entertaining and varied, being well interspersed with musical and dramatic items. The two humorous plays selected were "vVidows" and "Quite a Nice Cg,t,"
each being well acted and creating bursts of mirth from the audience. The soloists, Miss iR. Owens and Mr. J. Thomas, gave much pleasure by their duet singing, especially did the jolly "Come to the Fair" receive unstinted applause. Miss K. Kingon, who was responsible for the dance and American drill items, deserves special mention for the admirable way in which she trained the girls and the numbers were much appreciated by all present. Ilncluded in the programme were several 'elocutionary items, folkdances and vocal duets, each in their own way being admirably rendered.
