VALUABLE DIAMOND
a wonderful gem exhibition Diamonds valued at £1,000,000 guarded by armour-plate glass, an invisible ray alarm system, detectives and a number of commissioners were on show in London lately. The exhibition was the realisation of a 20year old amhition of.Mr. Gordon Seljfridg'e, who had been lent single gems, tiaras, bracelets, and necklets of incomparable worth and beauty. The jewels were displayed in a small room hung with black velvet curtains in a steel frame and glass structure, rather like a greenhouse. Visitors to the exhibition were carefully scrutinised before entering, and were conducted through by guides who explained to them the historical and intrinsic value of the items displayed. There was an emerald cut diamond woth £84,000 and another of the same type worth £60,000.
