WAICE UP ROTORUA.
To the Editor. Sir, — Your correspondent "An Old Seddon Liberal" and "Civis" have made very wise 'suggestions on behalf of our member being appointed to the Ministerial henches, and it has my hearty co-operation. I am also pleased to observe that Mr. Clinkard has, at least, two loyal supporters, and I have watched his career in the House with a great deal of interest. Your correspondent "Civis" has suggested the portfolio of Health as a suitable position for Mr. Clinkard to hold. So far so good, but your correspondent has evidently overloolced the portfolio of Minist'er of Native Affairs, and this would be a p'osition that Mr. Clinkard would do honour to, firstly, on account of his having been cliairman of the Native Affairs Committee in the House, and secondly, that the Rotorua electorate embraces a large number of our Native race. If possible I would make the further suggestion that his supporters, and he has many in this district, should form themselves into a deputation and wait upon Mr. Clinkard and give him every support for appointnvent as a Minister of the Crown. I quite understand that Rotorua is an important town in New Zealand and I can verify this by the fact that when visiting the Old Country a little while ago, when enquiries were made of me about this very interesting thermal district. The appointment of our member to the Ministry would undoubtedly put Rotorua on the map. — I am, etc.,
