FAREWELL AFTERNOON.

A farewell afternoon was giv?n by Mrs. H. M. Martin at her residence last Thursday for Mrs. A. Armer, who is leaving the district. The draw-ing-room was tastefully decorated with spring flowirs. A competition was won by Mrs. Dawson, Mrs. McPherson being second. Mrs. Isdale pvesented Mrs. Armer with a small gii't and expressed regret at her departure. The hostess received her guests wearing a frock of brown satin and the guest of honour wore fawn and brown crepe de chine. Among those present were Mesdames C. Managh, A. Armer, E. Dalbeth, J. Smyth, J. Moule, A. J. Isdale, W. McPherson, F. Reidy, A. Davies, W. r'tembridge, R. Dawson, C. Burrows, J. Burney and Miss Darlington. Annual Dance An event much looked forvvard to each year will take place next Friday night, when the Ngongotaha Old Girls' Basketball Club will hold their annual wind-up dance. An enthusiastic committee have arrangements well in hand.
