ROTORUA GAMES.

FINAL KOZIE SHIELD JUNIOR COMPETITION ! Kahukura 9, v. Whaka 3. High School 11, v. Waikite 6. Vv'ith the absence of senior games on ihe programme there was only a small attendance of spectators at Arawa Park on Saturday. On No. 1 ground Kahukura easily accounted for Whaka by nine points to three in the final of the Kozie Shield knock-out competition. Both teams played strenuous footbail, but the winners showed better finish and condunation which enabled them to score three tries, Locke securing all three, while Whaka's points resuited from a penalty kick. On the adjoining ground ILgh School had a soiid struggle against Waikite, eventually winning by 11 — 6. On the play Waikite had the best oi ir throughout, but owing to lack of finish failed to push home the advantage. Four times scoring chances were lost through infringements, on each occasion School gaining relief by means of penalty kicks. School won the majority of the scrums, but Dawson was quickly smothered and given few opportunities to set his backs in aetion, many eoneerted movements by the School rearguard being broken up in their infancy by Waikite's sound tackling. Too much kicking- into touch spoilt School's display, and aithough it gained them a territorial advantage, it often gave their opponents possession from the ensuing line-outs.
