ORPHANS' CLUB

FINAL NIGIIT OF SEASON SEES GOOD PROGRAMME PRESENTED. Despite the fact that two of the artists who had promised to give the bulk of the programme failed to attend last evening, the final night of the Rotorua Orjfiians' Club for this season was a pronounced success. President J. M. Roberts was in the chair and he had with him such distinguished visitors as Count Baillett de la Tour, president of the Olympic Games F'ederation, Mr. A. E. Jull, oi the Waipawa Savage Club and member for that electorate; Mr. C. Ii Cllnkard, "M.P., who is patron of thc club, and representatives from practically every sports bo^y in the l:strict and various outside Orphans clubs. Mr. Jull particularly proved in goou form and aft/er delighting his audunua with Othello's si'eech to his judges, tendered some sound but lengthy ad vice to budding politicians, which was fully appreciated. The orchestra was in good form aua play h1 an appreciable part in making the 'evening the success which undoubiedly it was. Items were given by Bros. Jull, Sparkes, Goodclhid, Thomas, Ilarris, Roberts and Shaw, whilst accoinpaniments were ai-lj played by Bros. Heley and Tapp -r. The president thankod the olficials and members ior then* support in i very enjoyable season, whilst Bro Taj'per thanked those who l.a. throughout th • r.eason eontributeil U. the programme.
