NO DAMAGE REPORTED In Rotorua the shake was felt with varying intensity in different parts of the town and outlying districts, the most severe shoclc probably being felt in the vicinity of the Old Taupo Road, where residents were. awakened by the swaying movement and the rattling of windows and crockery. Fairly severe shocks were also felt at Ngongotaha and at Fairy Springs a slight crack occurred in the concreted side of one of the fish hatchery ponds. As it was temporarily out of working order, no recor$ of the shake whs ma^e by the apparatus recently ihstalled in the Rotorua High School, but it is estimated that the dur.ation of the movement was about 20 seconds. No other damage has been reported in the town or district.
