Morrinsville, Friday. A light earthquake was felt in Morrinsville at about 1.30 this morning. No alarm was manifest as the tremor was slight. Waipukurau, Friday. Shocks of earthquake, lasting about a minute, were experienced at 1.27 and 2.15 a.m. There was a marked steady, swaying movement, apparently from east to west. No damage was done. Most people were awakened. The first shock was the worst. Hamilton, Friday. An earthquake was recorded in Hamilton at 1.33 this morning. The direction appeared to be from north to south. No damage has been reported in any part of the borough. Dannevirke, Friday. Shortly before 1.30 a.m., in Southern Hawkes Bay, a prolonged earthquake was experienced, continuing for upwards of a minute. It was a gentle swaying motion. It apparently came from the usual direction, north-east. Houses rattled and creaked, but there was little alarm. No damage is reported.
