NURSES' HOME

Wairoa, Friday. The nurses' new home, consisting of 26 rooms, and practically ready for the official opening, was badly damaged, and judging by reliable reports will not be fit for habitation for a considerable period. This will further add to the hardships experienced by the nursing staff, which has already spent two winters in tents, due to the fact that the home was completely' d'emolished by th|e 1931 earthquake. Steady rain set in, making conditions very miserable for those carnping outside. As early as 10 a.m., due to the energy of the committee in charge, a start had been made to clear the debris on the Marine Parade.
