A CARD EVENING

A 500 card tournament was held last evening in aid of the school sports fund. Prizes were won by Miss Hazel Matthews and Mr. M. Isdale. Among those present were: Mesdames C. Burrows, J. Moule, B. Bell, J. Barrowman, D. Sinclair, Miss Colleen Cronin, Miss Hazel Matthews, Messrs P. Cronin, J. Barrowman, B. Bell, A. Walker, C. Burrows and M. 'Isdale. Old Time Dance An old time dance was held last Friday -evening in aid of the Recreation Reserve funds. Music was supplied by Messrs Norris, Painton, and Tattersall. Among those present were: Mesdames R. Russell (.blue georgette), P. Cronin (black crepe de chine), "VV. McPherson (green fioral georgette), W. Batchelar (blu-e satin and coatee), I. Sais (peach taffeta), E. Dalbeth (black ninon), T. Henderson (floral georgette), Jeff Young (chocolate georgette), L. Marcroft (ivory satin), Misses Ida Burrows (green satin), Coll-een Cronin (lacquer red georgette) Amy Marcroft (rose taffeta), S. Marcroft (black taffeta), E. Marcroft (black satin), B. Burney (gre-an satin and coatee), F. Bell (green satin). Personal Mrs. B. Bailey and Miss Beverley Bailey have return-ed to Auckland from a visit to Ngongotaha. Mr. F. Duffy has returned to "River View'T* Ilamilton, from Ngongotaha where he was the guest of his mother. Miss Jean Isdale and Miss Dallis Cronin have return-ed from Auckland where they took part in the basketball tourney. Miss B. Matthews is visiting Whakatane. Miss Joyce Matthews has returned from a visit to Putaruru where she was the guest of her sister, Mrs. E. Henshaw. Basketball Team The following players will represent Ngongotaha basketball team on Saturday, September 17: — E. Fisher, D. Cronin, N. Fisher, G. Patterson, J. Martin, M. Cronin, C. Cronin, H. Matthews, N. Beaumont.
