THE BLUE BATHS
The news that the Government has decided to delay the final completion of the Blue Baths until further funds are voted, will not come as a surprise, although it is far from palatable. It is to be regretted that shortage of funds has forced this course of action upon the Government, for a great deal of the impression which would be [ created with the holiday crowds will necessarily be lost if the work is left in an unfinished state. Apparently it is proposed to complete the main pool for utility purposes only, and leave the dressing sheds in a semifinished condition. This will give visitors at the best, a rather cold welcome, but in times like the present we must be thankful for whatever mercies are bestowed upon us. Fears have been enter-
tamed that the whole projeet would be held up and it is at least satisfactory that the Government has not adopted this extreme course. Funds are undoubtedly very much eurtailed and Rotorua can only accept what has been done in a spirit of thankfulness with the hope that the complete job will be hnished as early as possible.
