C. Gieseler has recovered from his illness and has resumed chargs of Mr. J. M. Samson's h'orses at Timaru. Racing Estate Bankrupt. A petition in bankruptcy has been filed in the estate of the late Mr. W. G. Stead, of Hastings. To unsecured •creditors is owing £4953 19s lld, and to secured creditors £24,721 17s, the estimated values of securities heing £22,592 18s 9d.
