THE WEATHER
The Government meteorolojiist issued the following weather repwrt and forecast last night: — General situation: The anti-cyclone which covered New Zealand is moving slowly, its centre now being off the East Coast of the North Island; conditions continue to be disturbed over the North Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds, north-easterlies to northerlies, moderate, but freshening generally, Teaching gale force in the far north. Weather: Fair to fine in most districts, but unsettled in the far north with rain in places; clouds increasing generaliy, later rain developing Iri — wester'n districts and gradually extending; mild temperatures. Following are the barometer, maximum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourisl Department for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 30.447ins. Thermometer (max.) 61.0deg. Thermometer (min.) 38.0deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 29.9deg. Rainfall Nil Bright Sunshine , 10.7hrs.
