TO-DAY AND TO-NIGHT.

The canals of Venice, with gondolas floating in mysterious moonlit shadows, and the banks of the Danube at Budapest, lined with aneient palaces and throhbing with gypsy music, were hoth exactly reproduced. by native experts in Hollywood for the production of "To-night or Never," now showing at the Majestic Theatre. It's a story of th'e romance between a xiungarian opera-singer and her mysterious American pursuer, shifts from Italy to Hungary to furnish it with all the oldworld ch'afm desired by its author, the Hungarian Baroness Lill Hatvany. Clive Brook, Kay Francis and Miriam Hoplcins, the pert, vivacious heroine of "The Smiling Lieutenant," play the leading roles in "24 Hours," which is now showing at the Majestic Theatre. "24 Hours" shows how several people, within two twelve-hour turns of the clock, suddenly find themselves emhroiled in a dangerous situation, which threatens their lives. From the moment these people are introduced at a fashionabla dinner party, to that tense moment, twenty-four hours later, when one of the men finds himself unjustly accused of his paramour's murder — with only his estranged wife willing to believe him innocent — "24 Hours" creates and maintains suspense with eompelling effect. Not only is "24 Hours" a first-class dramatic story, but it also boasts of effective atmosphere touches, which add materially to the picture's enjoyment.
